Ok I have 2 themes going on in my head and do not know which way to go.
Both of these are imprtant to me. But would they bore you the reader?
I hope not but fully understand tht people have different values in life.
I am currently reading all about Grace .
Simply put, Grace can be defined as God's unmerited favour. It is God's free action for the benefit of His people.
How ever I have decided to go with another G that is important to me.
I am very fortunate that everywhere I have lived has had a garden.
My first family home had a small garden that we put grass down in and I grew runner beans in the narrowest boarder.
Our second garden was bigger and I remember planting a row of lellandi trees to give us privacy.
Just checked it out on google maps and it is way to big. We did this planting in 1989 so it has had plenty of growing time.
Our third garden was another wonderful space. There was a green house that I grew tomatoes in I had a radio out there and loved just being in there. Apart from the spiders that is.
There was a very overgrown plant by the garage . This was taken down and a small decked seating area was built in its place.
And now to my present garden
We relocated to this home in 2000.
Having spent ages looking at homes I had a fair idea of garden size . I ended up in house with a lawn that was it .
I had already made a plan before moving in. As a family we made this garden . Our house name is Eden House this was a name that was suggested by friends of the family an I do believe that my Garden is a piece of Eden .
What is so lovely is that Becky, Liz and Chris all have homes with gardens.
Chris & gem's is all sorted but Becky & Carl and Liz and James have gardens that need landscaping.
AJ to the rescue she has taken cuttings and has hundreds of plants ready to plant up next spring.
They will have gardens to die for.
This my front garden .Originally the grass went right over to the left of the path. I had Ian put the path to save our cars getting scratched by postmen etc. |
I hope you have enjoyed this posting please pop over to Jenny and see what other G's are on offer

Both Great themes~ enjoyed the pics of your Garden :-)
Both are lovely themes for "G". The garden pics are glorious though!
If I had a garden it would be a vegetable one. I remember raiding a few gardens when we were kids .
I can certainly relate to your choice of the 2 possible themes. I grew up in south Florida where the houses were so close you could hear back and forth if families were having an argument. Now I live on a little farm and have had gardens for 32 years....ranging from an acre Victory Garden shared with us by friends to out little tiny gardens now. Loved your pictures...you made us feel like we were right there in your special place. Loved reading the history. A wonderful post.
Wonderful choices for G.
I enjoyed reading why you love your gardens.
I would have loved any of your choices. I did enjoy seeing the garden though.
Lovely yard/garden in both your front and back. Nice idea for the Letter G. I too love gardening...usually have tomatoes and squash....Texas size!
i would have enjoyed anyone of those topics ... and your garden does look like a lovely little spot! So glad you shared some photos of it!
Both would have been great topics. I must say, I loved this because my farm is called Eden Hills! I, too, think it is a bit of heaven on earth.
Good post! I love God's grace and a good garden! You posted a great piece today! Anne
Grace is definitely good! And so is Garden!! Your gardens are beautiful. When I was younger I always had a big garden that included lots of flowers. Whenever anyone in the family was having a party, they would come over and cut flowers for the table. I never understood why they didn't just plant their own!
I certainly remember one of your OT gardens. I remember Mo coming into homegroup to collect Sarah, wearing one of Ian's t shirts because your kids had been water fighting in your garden. Mo joined in, but then stood under the washing rotary drier. You said you didn't care about the dry washing, so they soaked him with the hose pipe. We thought it was hilarious. (So did Mo)
I too had always a garden at least from 14 years on. Now I live here in Waterloo near Brussels and we have small but very nice garden. Just enough to enjoy when the weather is nice (for once, lol)
Seen from Dinah's blog - just spelled out my G words...
Have a super duper Great day to you !
