Spring Harvest

Ok for the last 5 days I have been in Sunny and HOT Minehead in Somerset. I was with Carolyn Thompson a friend from Manchester and we were at a Christian conference called Spring Harvest

Basically we joined 28 other people from my church and a few thousand more christians from around the world ( literally )  to spend time at Butlins  learning more about God.
Our Worship was led by Vicky Beeching

 This is just one of her songs that I loved.

Ok now you know what i was doing now this was our home for the five days. We could not get into our accomadation until 4pm so having lugged our luggage we enjoyed the sun .

This was all new to Carolyn so she started to look at the program so overwhelming

There was also a nest opposite our chalet.

On the Thursday we had a picnic and game of rounders I decided to be the official photographer.
Obviously i can not put  many pictures on here as they would need permission but I know that whilst she will object to the photo Carolyn will not object in theory.
MM now being close to the sea there were zillions of these lovely birds. How could God create a bird that could make so much mess and have such an amazing range of noises emmitting from its beak. At times I thought there were cats meowing no just a gull then a baby crying nope just a gull

This was our group picnic

I managed to get a picture of this amazing painting more will be revealed on Thursday .
Anyway must go having only had a couple of hours sleep I need my bed .

Proverbs 10

S4  Lazy hands make a man poor,
but diligent hands bring wealth.

O As I read this Proverb I had the picture of a two sided coin each side had had a word on on one side was the word right and on the other wrong or the words could be good and bad . Each verse is split into two and we have free will to decide what choices we make. I do know that what ever we choose will effect how are journey with God goes.

A I was struck by verse 4 for my personal situationand whilst I am not LAZY as such I do not always use my time wisely. I need to find new ways of earning extra income so I need to apply that to my memmory bank .

P Father God I pray that I will choose what is right and that you will guide me to spend my money wisely and use my time wisely and be obedient to you.

 AMEN

Proverbs.......6

Proverbs 6

Warnings Against Folly

1 My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor,

if you have struck hands in pledge for another,

2 if you have been trapped by what you said,

ensnared by the words of your mouth,

3 then do this, my son, to free yourself,

since you have fallen into your neighbor's hands:

Go and humble yourself;

press your plea with your neighbor!

4 Allow no sleep to your eyes,

no slumber to your eyelids.

5 Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,

like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

6 Go to the ant, you sluggard;

consider its ways and be wise!

7 It has no commander,

no overseer or ruler,

8 yet it stores its provisions in summer

and gathers its food at harvest.

9 How long will you lie there, you sluggard?

When will you get up from your sleep?

10 A little sleep, a little slumber,

a little folding of the hands to rest-

11 and poverty will come on you like a bandit

and scarcity like an armed man. [a]

12 A scoundrel and villain,

who goes about with a corrupt mouth,

13 who winks with his eye,

signals with his feet

and motions with his fingers,

14 who plots evil with deceit in his heart—

he always stirs up dissension.

15 Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant;

he will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.

16 There are six things the LORD hates,

seven that are detestable to him:

17 haughty eyes,

a lying tongue,

hands that shed innocent blood,

18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,

feet that are quick to rush into evil,

19 a false witness who pours out lies

and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

Warning Against Adultery

20 My son, keep your father's commands

and do not forsake your mother's teaching.

21 Bind them upon your heart forever;

fasten them around your neck.

22 When you walk, they will guide you;

when you sleep, they will watch over you;

when you awake, they will speak to you.

23 For these commands are a lamp,

this teaching is a light,

and the corrections of discipline

are the way to life,

24 keeping you from the immoral woman,

from the smooth tongue of the wayward wife.

25 Do not lust in your heart after her beauty

or let her captivate you with her eyes,

26 for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread,

and the adulteress preys upon your very life.

27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap
without his clothes being burned?

28 Can a man walk on hot coals

without his feet being scorched?

29 So is he who sleeps with another man's wife;

no one who touches her will go unpunished.

30 Men do not despise a thief if he steals

to satisfy his hunger when he is starving.

31 Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold,

though it costs him all the wealth of his house.

32 But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment;

whoever does so destroys himself.

33 Blows and disgrace are his lot,

and his shame will never be wiped away;

34 for jealousy arouses a husband's fury,

and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.

35 He will not accept any compensation;

he will refuse the bribe, however great it is.

My Thoughts

What can I say Don't be lazy or silly listen to your parents and obviously God and don't commit adultery guess that sums it up oh how wonderful if life was that simple.
And my final thought is that whilst I do not want to think of myself as a sluggard (v6) I would love the energy and skill of an ant .

Prayer

Father God I pray that you will protect our  comings and goings guide our mouths and eyes and keep us safe.
Help us to prioritise our time wisely and remember that you are our loving Father
Amen

Proverb a day........5

Proverbs 5 (New International Version)

Proverbs 5

Warning Against Adultery

1 My son, pay attention to my wisdom,

listen well to my words of insight,

2 that you may maintain discretion

and your lips may preserve knowledge.

3 For the lips of an adulteress drip honey,

and her speech is smoother than oil;

4 but in the end she is bitter as gall,

sharp as a double-edged sword.

5 Her feet go down to death;

her steps lead straight to the grave. [a]

6 She gives no thought to the way of life;

her paths are crooked, but she knows it not.

7 Now then, my sons, listen to me;

do not turn aside from what I say.

8 Keep to a path far from her,

do not go near the door of her house,

9 lest you give your best strength to others

and your years to one who is cruel,

10 lest strangers feast on your wealth

and your toil enrich another man's house.

11 At the end of your life you will groan,

when your flesh and body are spent.

12 You will say, "How I hated discipline!

How my heart spurned correction!

13 I would not obey my teachers

or listen to my instructors.

14 I have come to the brink of utter ruin

in the midst of the whole assembly."

15 Drink water from your own cistern,

running water from your own well.

16 Should your springs overflow in the streets,

your streams of water in the public squares?

17 Let them be yours alone,

never to be shared with strangers.

18 May your fountain be blessed,

and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.

19 A loving doe, a graceful deer—

may her breasts satisfy you always,

may you ever be captivated by her love.

20 Why be captivated, my son, by an adulteress?

Why embrace the bosom of another man's wife?
21 For a man's ways are in full view of the LORD,

and he examines all his paths.

22 The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him;

the cords of his sin hold him fast.

23 He will die for lack of discipline,

led astray by his own great folly.

My Thoughts

As I sat this morning reading this I thought wow God you know exactly how to make me sit up and take note plus like always you know exactly where I am at.
Adultery has put a major strain on my marriage for the last 7 years I have kept it from the children and only confided in those closest to me whom are trusted people of God but now that the bare facts are out in the open it is so much easier to be open and honest with those around me .
Just as I am typing these I have in my ears the news of an earthquake in California more dead . An earthquake is the earth cracking under pressure and basically that is what I started to do in January and am still on anti depressants but I know that over time with God's help I will overcome this.
Adultery is not nice, it does not just affect the husband and wife it affects the children, friends and wider circles on both sides that is why it is written as a commandment and in this 5th proverb.

Prayer
Father God I ask that you protect my childrens relationships that both sides will be faithful to each other.
I pray that all marriages will be protected from adultery.
I also pray that any readers who have been involved in adultery that you will bring healing.
This is not a perfect world and we are not a perfect people but you are a perfect God.
Amen

A Proverb a day ...... 4

I have decided to be disciplined for the next month and join in with http://www.momstoolbox.com/blog/ and read through Proverbs. and blog about it.
so here goes.
I will include the passage to save you having to rush for your bibles.

Proverbs 4

Wisdom Is Supreme

1 Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction;

pay attention and gain understanding.

2 I give you sound learning,

so do not forsake my teaching.

3 When I was a boy in my father's house,

still tender, and an only child of my mother,

4 he taught me and said,

"Lay hold of my words with all your heart;

keep my commands and you will live.

5 Get wisdom, get understanding;

do not forget my words or swerve from them.

6 Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you;

love her, and she will watch over you.

7 Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.

Though it cost all you have, [a] get understanding.

8 Esteem her, and she will exalt you;

embrace her, and she will honor you.

9 She will set a garland of grace on your head

and present you with a crown of splendor."

10 Listen, my son, accept what I say,

and the years of your life will be many.

11 I guide you in the way of wisdom

and lead you along straight paths.

12 When you walk, your steps will not be hampered;

when you run, you will not stumble.

13 Hold on to instruction, do not let it go;

guard it well, for it is your life.

14 Do not set foot on the path of the wicked

or walk in the way of evil men.

15 Avoid it, do not travel on it;

turn from it and go on your way.

16 For they cannot sleep till they do evil;

they are robbed of slumber till they make someone fall.

17 They eat the bread of wickedness

and drink the wine of violence.

18 The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn,

shining ever brighter till the full light of day.

19 But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;

they do not know what makes them stumble.

20 My son, pay attention to what I say;

listen closely to my words.

21 Do not let them out of your sight,

keep them within your heart;

22 for they are life to those who find them

and health to a man's whole body.

23 Above all else, guard your heart,

for it is the wellspring of life.

24 Put away perversity from your mouth;

keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,

fix your gaze directly before you.

26 Make level [b] paths for your feet

and take only ways that are firm.

27 Do not swerve to the right or the left;

keep your foot from evil.

This proverb speaks to me directly at the moment, since my husband left in August I have been not in denial as such but kind of shutting my eyes and ears to what was going on around me. I now have to open them and take wisdom from trusted people . Another verse that is very important is

Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)

11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I  have tried to make sure that through all these months that I have not said bad things against my husband. I know the marriage is over but no matter what happens we are still parents to our adult children .
I have to say that blogging has been a great way of meeting new people and sharing experiences and building faith.

Good Friday

What is so good about today ?
today is the day we ,well I remember that God allowed his Son to die to a cross. Not very nice is it ?
Less than 4 months ago we were celebrating the birth of sweet baby Jesus now remind me where was that? in a nice clean maternity hospital with latest faciliutes ( 2000 years ago) no, in a probably cold damp stable that stank of animals.

So basically Jesus entered this world in a paupers way and left it like a criminal but wait, he is the king of kings and Lord of Lords how does that work?

I don't know but I do now that without Jesus making that sacrifice I have no chance of going to heaven

John 3:16 (New International Version)
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

As Jesus hung on the cross he knew what was going to happen he could have asked his Father to free him but he knew what had to do and he did it, Jesus died for you and me that we might have eternal life.
All I can say is that with all that has happened to me ( only minor in comparrison to what many go through) since August 28th last year I know without a shadow of a doubt that without God I would not be where I am now.
God has placed the right people in the right places at the right time letters and emails and phone calls and texts have arrived at just the right time.
And even before then I believe bringing AJ much nearer was in God's plan ( as well as hers) as she has been the voice of experience and reason.
I have not through any of this slandered anyone and again I credit God's grace because I have been tempted.
Yes there are hurts on all sides but with prayerand patience I believe they will be healed and that is all becaise God sacrificed his son Jesus on Good Friday all those years ago .
Could I sacrifice my beloved son I could throttle him at times ( only Joking Chriis) but no I could not sacrifice him but then I can not see the bigger picture and thankfully so I have enough trouble coping with the small picture I can see .

St Patricks Day

Ok firstly I am not Irish but this week I have been doing lot's of learning on St Patrick so just thought I would take time out of my normal Wednesday to say Happy St Patricks day to you all .

St Patricks Day Prayer

Christ be with me,Christ within me,
Christ behind me,Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me

Christ beneath me,Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, and in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouh of friend and stranger.

I also think that it is beautiful that St Patrick used the Shamrock to teach about the Trinity  and a thought I had last night as I made a craft for after school club is that each part of the shamrock is a heart and that reminds me that God loves us.

So like I said I am not Irish but then neither was St Patrick so Happy St Patricks day.

It's Nearly February Already !!!!!!

This was taken at Buntingsdale on a dog walk

Just checking in to say hi to everyone or no one who knows who actually reads this.

January has been January cold snowy in parts frustrating in parts and great at times. I have  great Children who are actually fanastic adults.
They have been very supportive since this became a single parent home.
My faith has taken a knocking and then God comes and taps me on the shoulder and reminds me that he is here , my Aunt is recovering well after surgery, people are still being rescued from Haiti these are just two things that show God is here there and everywhere.

What next for me well I don't know

Jeremiah 29

11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

So with that I am looking forward to February
