Week 7 Prompt
With all that had happened in the last year I was really not looking forward to tomorrow . I know selfish I need to move forward not linger in the past just thinking back to when I was four ,it was Fathers Day, 1984, when I heard that voice in the hallway... Dad had got home on leave ,Mum had said there would be a surprise when I got up ,what a day we had traditions that lasted until my last Fathers day with Daddy. Ok time to start our own with Rebecca, thank you God for reminding me that it's about giving her good memories for her future. Happy Fathers Day Daddy

This is kind of based on my own experience of Mothers day . It is hard to celebrate a day with your own child when you can not celebrate it with your own parent.
Anyway please visit Jenny and see how other people have used it. and have a Happy Fathers Day

I have neither parent to share these days with so understand what you mean - great sentiment!
The Memories are what's important...
What a nice spring board for you to start your own traditions! In our family, we love them, but Father's Day is bittersweet - I'm happy for everyone who has a dad, but sad for those of us who never knew theirs.
Yh! Father's day isn't the easiest in our household either :(
Fathers Day is definitely bittersweet today. Nicely done.
"...preserve your memories; they're all that's left you..."
Simon and Garfunkel would have liked this one! (I did.)
=)
Memories are always good to pass on. That's how family traditions are started.
My father passed 8 years ago, and Father's Day is still hard for me. But I love seeing my daughter celebrate with DH, so it helps. Kathy
This was very sentimental and heart warming just in time for Father's Day especially for us that are dad's are gone now. Great job.
Thanks for sharing something so personal with us. My thoughts are with you.
Very nice...sentimental...Father's Day is tough for me this year...oh well...tomorrow is a new day...Peace and blessings
What a lovely way to pay tribute to all who have lost their fathers. Great job!
A lovely post about both families!
Though he's been gone a long time, it's nice to reflect on past Father's Days when he was around, holding his gift of soap on a rope and lying through his teeth that it was the best thing ever!
A beautiful tribute to a Father who is gone but not forgotten. I loved Sue's comment. So true.
Thank you for linking Tracy.
Sending you a hug...I feel the sadness in your words.
