D is for Divorce

Well any day now I will recieve a piece of paper signed and sealed by a judge telling me that Iam now divorced.

What a topic for Alphabet Thursday, but is where I am at so seemed perfect to share it with you.

For those that know I have been married for

Duration calculation results

From and including: Saturday, 1 December 1984

To, but not including : Thursday, 12 May 2011

It is 9658 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date
Or 26 years, 5 months, 11 days excluding the end date
Alternative time units
9658 days can be converted to one of these units:
•834,451,200 seconds
•13,907,520 minutes
•231,792 hours
•1379 weeks (rounded down)

Technically I should calculate the end of the marriage on the day he left  so that gives me

From and including: Saturday, 1 December 1984

To, but not including : Friday, 28 August 2009

It is 9036 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date

Or

24 years, 8 months, 27 days excluding the end date
Alternative time units
9036 days can be converted to one of these units:
•780,710,400 seconds
•13,011,840 minutes
•216,864 hours
•1290 weeks (rounded down)

so as you can see I gave it a good go and whilst I am not perfect , having countless affairs is not the way to treat your wife.

anyway I am not unhappy about this situation , don't get me wrong I would still rather be happily married but I am worth more than that .
So any day now I will be able to say I am middle aged and single.

Ok thats it the end and new start.

I think you should celebrate!!! no one deserves to be lied to, cheated on, etc .... and do start over ... middle aged and single isn't quite as bad as most people think. I enjoy the freedom!

I tried to comment on this ages ago but it wouldn't let me.

I'm full of sadness because I remember good times spent with your family in years past. I wish things had turned out better :(

Much love & a hug

This is sad, but it is a new beginning. I hope your heart is healing so that when the paper comes, you can look at it as an invitation to a new chapter.

Thanks for stopping by The Simple Life. Sorry to hear you are going through this. Divorce is never pretty, but sometimes is necessary for self-preservation. Here's hoping better days are coming your way. Best.

Tracy,I'm sorry. Letting go of all that time cannot be easy. My first marriage was only 19 years (going on a 1,000 some days!) and even though he was crazy and I prayed for a solution to escaping him, it was still weird and hard when we weren't together.

I found this post poignant and touching.

I know you are strong and you will survive, but in the meantime I wish I could give you a gentle hug!

Thanks for linking.
