Having not taken part is Saturday Centus for a very long time I thought I would take a peak so as usual I have 100 words to entertain you. The topic or starter this week is 16
So here goes.
Sixteen was not a birthday I enjoyed one little bit in fact it was the worst birthday ever.
My Mum was in hospital and I found out she was coming home to die, she had cancer. Back in 1979 I guess treatment was very different.
But guess what Its ok now yes I wish she was here of course I do but if she was here who is to say my journey on the road called life would be very different, and I would not change it now, I am about to become a grandmother due the day before my 49th birthday.
Well that’s my story in brief I am sorry but I have gone over 100 words by two please forgive me.
If you go to see Jenny over at her blog you will be entertained by other people’s stories.

Despite your mother's illness, and your life changing so much - look how far you've come.
Well done.
Sounds like you had some early challenges....but that you have met them well!!!
Yay! Being a grandma is so much better than being 16! Our 3rd arrived the day after Thanksgiving...far better than turkey, to be sure!!!
Oh the sweet and bitter moments of life...it's like the waves of an ocean....the tide comes in and goes out...high moments, low moments, but they all become softer especially with the birth of a new grandchild! I know! I have six!
Sorry Tracy. Thanks for sharing this.
I went through the same with my mom when I was 18.
Blessings to you and yours.

Bittersweet memories at an important crossroad in your life...nicely done !!!
thank you for sharing this. we are all given challenges to bear but they are so much more difficult when they come to you at such a young age. I appreciate the strength it takes to open up about the realities of one's life.
16 is hard no matter what...you had a great deal to overcome and you did!
I admire your courage in sharing this kind of pain, and you wrote it down really nicely.
oh what a difficult time ... you did a great job writing ... and congratulations on the about to be grandma bit!!!
My mom lost her dad when she was only 10. It's so hard to lose a mother young.
You seem to have done well, though, and now you are going to be a grandma. Nothing better!
=)
Your story is poignant and moving...tough to lose a parent, something I have never faced...but you kicked life in the butt and emerged the winner. :)
