All change

Long ago there was a garden that was just a lawn. There were no flower beds or trees, no table or chairs and certainly nothing of any interest.

Gradually this was changed  and is now a garden that whilst being overgrown in part and certainly not tame is a thing to me of beauty.

It is the first garden that I have designed from scratch, infact there is a plan imn my Alan Titchmarch book from before we even saw the  house detailing what was needed.

One of these things was a pond a koi one and a wild life one. Over the years I have cleaned out the wild life one but sadly had an ongoing battle with a pond weed.

These were taken after Liz and I spent a whole day ripping it all out and starting again

Yesterday I decided that it had to go.

 Thanks to a neighbour who had a skip of soil ( new conservatory)  I was able to fill in  having stabbed the liner then top off with bark and plant up this new area

.

Sadly there will be no more frogspawn photos  or blooming water lillies. Instead I will post of repositioned Hostas, Maple and new purchased lavendar and lobelia.

So hopefully I will just have to do battle with strong rooted grass

Sunday morning

Had a quick wander round the garden  and saw three brilliant spots of colour. The flower in the pond should not be there until spring.

Good to know the berries are there ready for the birds

I had lots of little bits of bird feed left so got an old baking tray and made this for them wonder how long it will last.

I am trying to sort bird feeders weekly washing them out etc

 AJ got me a mega sack of seed and hundrds of fat balls so birds will be ok for the winter

Ok today got off to a good start cleaned up bird feeders, kitchen, and now starting on study then bagging up Avon.

Whats new

I think we have created a new species this is either a 19 year old with facial transplant in need of a shave or a dog who has developed long legs.

It is amazing how Chris can always find something to hide behind.

As you have probably noticed I have once again followed the lead by Krista and put a playlist on. These are all songs that have a meaning for me except for the new Neal Diamond one I just love it .

This was what Chris and I actually came out to look at last night. After no flowers last year we now have this beautiful one.

Ian has worked really hard at getting the pond clear this year he had had a major prob with the filter so upgraded this year think he has enough pump power to clean the River Mersey. It looks so fantastic.

It's amazing what a mix of sun and rain does to roses this plant has just burst into life and the fragrance is amazing still.Well it's my morning so off to pot up 3 hanging baskets and do a bit of dead heading. Oh My Dad is off to Papworth Friday.
