Something from the weekend

At the moment there is not really much difference between Monday to Friday or the weekend .
As I am starting my next week of post op recovery the one thing that has distinguished the two parts of  the week has been the Rugby World cup.

I am amazed at how engrossed I have been into the games. I have made a startling discovery over the last couple of weeks tho. Any team I want to win looses. Firstly there was England  and then yesterday Wales so today I am not voicing my hopes surfice to say the Haka is brilliant.

It seems as injuries are a great part of rugby and not just at the world cup level either. Yesterday Hannah had a call from Chris to collect him as he had injured his ankle playing the wonderful game.

After a quick trip to Shrewsbury A&E  and an tubigrip and crutches it seems thankfully there is no break. A return visit on Tuesday will confirm the diagnosis.

A quick phone call from Liz to check on how to make cauliflower cheese  and that really summed up my weekend .

Obviously I have the rest of Sunday to fill yet , but I am fairly sure that today will be filled with sewing  christmas gifts.

I have to say I am really enjoying being creative in deciding and makiking gifts obviously I can't  put pictures on as it would give the game away to any recipients who might pop by.

Well thats all folks time to catch up with the game

A beautiful weekend

Friday 18th March would have been my Dads 82nd birthday but instead of being sad we all gathered and had a fantastic evening . Purley by coincidence it was also Thumpers 1st birthday so there was lots to celebrate.
Oh I nearly forgot it was also the gathering of the new cars three black cars in a row sadly I did not photograph that one. There was also a new blue one behind that was Tom's.

Girlie weekend

This weekend started way back in November when Hannah was choosing Christmas gifts.
She came up with the fab idea of a SPA day for us girls.
We were given a certificate , two towels and a travel shower set.
The next part came when we got together to choose a spa followed by a weekend.

We decided to go to Liz's this time round and had a fab weekend

Hannah picked me up from school on Friday and we headed over to becky's then Becky fdrove us up to Liz & Jame's
We were then served a fab super of shepherds pie followed by home made pud.
Saturday morning we woke up to SNOW .

I managed to get a photo of the four of us

As well as one of the girls

It was good to see how grown up George and Monty are

Monty seems to have recovered from his self inflicted illnes.

Today we went back to the hotel and went to a wedding fair
So all in all a fab weekend was had by all

Craziness in the Cook house

Tis the season   ( ok nearly) to be Jolly
Unless of course you are a house rabbit being stuffed inside a santa suit.

Only one thing to say about this picture "My what big feet he has"

One of the things I miss in this house is an open fire. Not as an only source of heat but just a beautiful
focal point on a winters day.
Whilst I was visiting AJ on Saturday she lit her fire and I decided to photograph it  and now I have a cosy fire to watch in my study , whilst I am crafting .

Dogs that are alert and eveready to pounce

I am so happy with the way my shape is changing .

My 4th July 2010

This collection of photos is basically of a brilliant day.
Becky and Carl collected my Dad and came over to visit primarily to watch the carnival .
It was so good to have my Dad over and to see the pleasure on everyones faces. Although he was not smiling in this photo Beauty Grandad is never happier than when with his grandchildren and the feeling is mutual .This was Hannah on her work place float . The theme was a night at the movies Hannah's float was jungle book they came 2nd .
There was a marching band which Dad really enjoyed . Hannah's float had artwork by the children .
Charlie Chaplin even turned up.
To top it of we had a fantastic meal prepared by Becky a mock Bar B Q With American produce sourced from ALDI a German company .

We even had cinnamon and Apple pie YUMMY
And finally as a surprise for my Dad we invited AJ over and they both had a fantastic time talking about days gone by,
This is Trimmed Tilly and Brave Billy .

I really have had a terrific day topped of with @7 our combined church service and then a call to pop and see Chris and Gem for a brew can't wait to see Liz and James this week.
I am so blessed to have fantastic children and a brilliant Dad. Hope your day was good whatever you did.

Fantastic times

Ok what can I say number two daughter Elizabeth and her her wonderful partner James are on the property ladder. This is not an easy achievement for anybody now adays but even harder for young people.
Any way they are the proud owners of a fantastic 3 bed semi just outside leeds, and Friday night I had the privilege pf driving up to stay and sharing their excitement alongside Becy and Carl and Hannah who had been there ALL day helping sort the new and clean their old apartment for handover.

As is traditional when you have a new home Liz and James were given new home cards and gifts .
The notice board was made by Hannah and I . Liz chose the fabric  and I will be making kitchen accesories to match .
It is fair to say that my girls do not need much of an excuse to raise a glass in celebration and yesterday was no exception.

Carl and James decided to play the fools by pretending that one had been presented with the notice board what clowns.

a second earlier James had been smiling at the prospect of a home cooked meal . They had had take aways the previous few nights so were very happy when I arrived with a white lasagne

Saturday

Ok today was a chilled day lazy morning off into Leeds then Ikea then home to collect a happy dog and  cuddle the bunny.
Sunday

Today was a busy one first of all Hannah had breakfast in bed , then we set to on the airing cuboard .
Our Airing cupboard has been home to towels , sheets and goodness knows what else  for an army , well maybe not an army but six permanent residents plus doubles plus just in case stuff.

Well no more there is enough bedding for each bed to have a set and a spare and same with towels. Now on our spare baed are sets of matched bedding and towels waiting to see if anyone wants if not it is off to charity shop.
Whilst it was hard to say goodbye to some much loved bedding it feels so empowering to have a tidy airing cupboard.

Next was the mamoth wash loads I had I decided to wash the sofa covers as we have such good weather.
Then it was time to strip ALL the beds followed by a quick trip to the loft .
I then dissapeared for 3 hours as went to some  good friends for afternoon tea with along with my neighbours.
Following a disasterous football game I came home to a mountain sized pile of ironing ALL done now.
So as you can see I have had a fantastic weekend .

Needles to say I took my camera and I am so glad I did .
Anyway thats my weekend . hope yours was good
